My Favorite Disney Bars

While many people think that Disney is for kids there are plenty of adult things around - mainly bars. 😂Here is my list of my favorites around property. A lot of them are at deluxe resorts - but, the best part about that is that you can experience the resort and some Disney magic without the higher price tag of staying there or eating in the attached restaurant. If you want to check out the menus beforehand, you can do so via the My Disney Experience app or, my favorite, the Menu section of the All Ears website.

Resorts

The monorail resorts have several good stops, all of which you could incorporate into the Monorail Bar Crawl. At the Contemporary, I love the Outer Rim. It sits on the backside of the resort so you get a beautiful view of the Seven Seas Lagoon that surrounds Fort Wilderness. Plus, it’s right outside Chef Mickey’s so you can often get some character sightings!

The next stop on the monorail is the Polynesian. There are two here I like - Tambu Lounge that connects to Ohana (a theme with some of these to get a plethora of drinks, food from the same kitchen and no reservations are needed) and Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto - which has an indoor and outdoor seating area.

The Boardwalk/Epcot area resorts also have plenty of good options. At the Yacht Club is the Ale & Compass Lounge connected to the restaurant of the same name. At the Boardwalk across the water (and outside by the pool) is Leaping Horse Libations. It’s just fun because it’s a carousel. At the Swan you’ve got Il Mulino Lounge, the bar area attached to the restaurant. Plenty of Italian drink options - and pizza. Adjacent to the Swan is the Dolphin. There you’ll find Phins. This is in their main lobby area but it’s huge and beautiful and makes for a nice setting.

At Animal Kingdom Lodge you have your choice from so many South African wines at Cape Town Lounge. So you can see the selection without needing a reservation at Jiko. The Gurgling Suitcase at Old Key West is a small but good spot right along the water where the boats pick up to take you to Disney Springs. And, not sure if our boat capitan didn’t care, but, he let us bring our drinks when we were headed to dinner at DS.

Last, but definitely not least, on my resort bar list is Rix Sports Bar at Coronado Springs. It is making my list for one reason - it is at a moderate resort. This resort now has more, but Rix was the first and was unique. While all the values and moderates have pool bars, none were open late. However, you could still go into Rix after your day in the park. The reason they had this was because Coronado Springs has a conference center (also the only one at a moderate). So, if they had a conference going on, they had a place to go in the evening.

Disney Springs

DS, of course, has tons of options and, like the resorts, don’t require a park ticket! Just navigating the terrible traffic. 😣

My favorite DS restaurant has a walk-up section attached so no reservations are needed. The Basket at Wine Bar George gets you access to all of their wonderful wine options. Our favorite pre-dinner drink spot is Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar. It’s Indiana Jones-esq themed with fun cocktail options. It’s also close to some of my favorite restaurants - Wine Bar George and the Boathouse. Dockside Margaritas is a fun little spot as it’s right along the water so you can sit and enjoy the view while you drink your fave margarita.

Wine Bar George continually sells drinks in custom Corkcicles for around $30. You can bring it back for a refill and pay only for the beverage!

Parks

Obviously a park ticket is needed for this section but, for the most part, a restaurant reservation isn’t. With Magic Kingdom only selling alcohol in some of their sit-down restaurants, MK is sadly not on this list (but I still had to share a photo below of me having my first purchased adult beverage in MK at Skipper Canteen).

At Hollywood Studios there is no question as to my faves. In fact, they are definitely in the top 5 of all on property bars. Baseline Tap House is near the Muppets area and has only California wine and beer options (which is why I love it). And, of course, back in Galaxy’s Edge, if you can get a reservation, you can’t go wrong with Oga’s Cantina for the full Star Wars experience.

Animal Kingdom also has a couple, and like DHS, it has one of my top faves. Nomad Lounge is connected to Tiffin’s. I love the inside as it’s all travel themed. And they also have covered outdoor seating that overlooks the water with the ability to spot the ‘floatillas’ as the glide by. Plus they have super yummy gluten free churros. The other spot I like is Pongu Pongu back in Pandora. You can get some crazy looking drinks there to go along with the Avatar theme but I like getting the beer that was designed for Pandora.

Epcot, of course, has the most spots. Obviously there is almost always a festival going on so there will likely be extra booths. But, these are worth a stop any time. In Mexico is La Cava del Tequila. They have a huge selection of tequilas and unique margaritas. If you don’t get there at opening, be prepared to wait in line because everyone loves this place. Back around in Italy is the Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar. You truly feel like you are in a wine cellar when you go in and you have tons of great Italian wines to pick from. In the UK is the Rose & Crown Pub. It is always a good break from the heat and we have fond memories of having Quinton get sung to by the piano player for his first birthday. Last on my list in Epcot is a spot that makes my favorite drink on all of Disney property - the bright orange Grand Marnier slushie. You can find it at Les Vins des Chefs de France. We like to get it and sit by the fountain while we drink it and people watch.

Disney is constantly changing. Which is one of the reasons we keep going back. Even though we’ve been passholders for over 10 years, there are still things we haven’t done so our ‘to do’ list never seems to get shorter. Here are some of the bars on that list!

I mentioned that Coronado Springs was the only moderate with a legit bar but they expanded and added more. I want to check out Barcelona Lounge there, not to mention all the renovations they made with adding the tower rooms. At the Grand Floridian we still need to get to the Enchanted Rose Lounge - we’ve been to the location before but not since they’ve rethemed it as Beauty & the Beast. Another moderate resort, Port Orleans - French Quarter, has Scat Cat’s Club. Abita beer, NOLA themed food and Beignets - who wouldn’t want that? And at Epcot, I want to go to the Space 220 Lounge. It requires a reservation and since it’s newly opened, they are hard to come by. And, I want to go to it over the restaurant as you can still get the experience but you get to pick and choose your menu (and therefore how much you pay) as the restaurant has a pricey prix fixe meal.
